Thanks for your support!
A massive thank you to everyone who has been involved with The Book Edit this year. I’m so proud of all the writers we’ve worked with and the incredible talent emerging from our collaborations.
This year’s Writers’ Prize—in association with Legend Press and judged by Deepa Anaparra—was an absolute blast with eight brilliant winners showcasing their work at our annual prize event. You can read the anthology of winning entries or watch the recording here.
Hot off the press:
2023 winner Pavan Amara has since signed with literary agent Madeleine Milburn.
Nicola Fieldsend, one of our original 2023 winners, had to bow out when she was offered representation with Hayley Steed at Janklow & Nesbit. Speaking of her involvement, Nicola said ‘The Book Edit Writers' Prize has been an important part of my writing journey ever since I was longlisted in 2022. Congratulations to the winners, and if you submitted in 2023, try again in 2024! You never know what might happen!’
Alexander McPhail, winner in 2022, has signed with Donald Winchester at Watson, Little and is hard at work editing his debut novel.
Hamish Mojaria, longlisted in 2022, sold his Harveen Gill Mysteries trilogy to Pan Macmillan earlier this year and has just sold the film rights for his debut The Muziris Empire to Parmar Entertainment, Impact Films and filmmaker Mohit Ramchandani.
What a talented bunch!
In a bid to support more underrepresented authors, in January we will be releasing recordings of our 2023 shortlisted authors.
We also piloted some new editing and writing courses this year. Watch this space for more in 2024!
Finally, for anyone who would like to work with us in 2024, we are offering a 10% discount on all our services for bookings taken between January to March 2024. Just use the code BENEW2024 in your email to take advantage of this offer.
Wishing all of you a very happy new year, and thanks again.
Warmest wishes
